Ambassador Tizita presents Credentials to President of India

Her Excellency Dr. Tizita Mulugeta, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, has presented her credentials to H.E. Shri. Ram Nath Kovind, President of the Republic of India.

The presentation took place on June 25, 2019 during an elaborate ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhawan, the Presidential Palace in New Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion, the Ambassador commended the long-standing and cordial relationship between India and Ethiopia, citing growing ties in the sphere of investment, trade, capacity building and people to people relations.

Ethiopia is keen to establish strategic partnership with India bringing relations to new heights.

H.E. President Shri Ram Nath Kovind mentioned the official visit he paid to Ethiopia in 2017 and underscored his Government's keen interest to further enhance the strong relationship with Ethiopia.

The President appreciated the important role Ethiopia plays for peace and security in the sub-region and Africa.

The Government of India he said would remain seized in the enhancement of cooperation and partnership with Ethiopia for mutual benefits of the people of India and Ethiopia.

Ambassador Tizita expressed gratitude to H. E. the President and through him to the Government and People of India for the cooperation and support extended by the Government of India.

The Two sides have confirmed commitments to intensify engagements in all areas of endeavour to promote bilateral ties of the two ancient civilizations.
